With four games left in 2025, all on the road, the Generals found themselves two clean points, defeating the Elmira Aviators 3-2 at LeCom Events Center on Friday night.
Keagin Wilson turned aside 32 of 34 shots to secure his fifth victory of the season and second straight while elevating his rookie-season save percentage to .902 on the year.
Elmira opened the scoring with Maximus MacGuire’s power-play marker, which was shortly countered by the Generals just 35 seconds later with Alec Hall’s team leading 15th goal of the season.
Greg Johnson’s second goal of the year was the lone tally in the second frame, handing the Aviators a 2-1 lead heading to the third, where the Generals have had a so-far struggling record of 1-6-0-0 when trailing after two periods of play.
Friday’s script failed to suit that narrative.
Jack Montaldo scored his first goal of the season, picking up the equalizer on the power play, and with five minutes left in the game, Kody Moyer scored his third game-winning goal, and 12th overall, to give the Generals a 3-2 victory.
The victory improves the Gens’ record to 16-12-2-1, where they sit in 5th place in the East Division.
The Generals and Aviators will square off once more on Saturday, before the Gens will wrap up their 2025 calendar year with two final road games in Johnstown over New Year’s Eve.
